Oh my goodness gracious. That's all I can say at the moment.
Okay. I'm better.
Our very dear friends Ashley and Simon were recently blessed with the birth of their first child, baby Evelyn Rae. She was born healthy and happy to ecstatic parents and grandparents, and we are so excited for this next adventure in their lives.
I met Ashley almost a decade ago, and we have been besties prettttty much since the first time we hung out. You know how when you love someone so much it's hard to put it into words? That's how I feel about Ashley. She's one of the people in this world I can 100% be myself around - she doesn't judge, and she's always supportive. She cracks me up, and is such a bad-ass woman sometimes it makes me tear up a little. Or a lot. Watching all the CRAZY stuff that women go through in pregnancy and birth (and before and after - I mean, seriously- it's never ending) has been rather eye-opening for me, but Ashley has handled it like a champ, and Simon has been there every step of the way to support her. She and Simon make such a great team, and this little baby is in for a LOT OF SPOILING from some grandparents - like, no joke. We are so lucky to have such awesome people in our lives.
We started the session by passing around a little sleeping baby, but then as soon as we tried to do any traditional 'newborn' shots, she was, of course, wide awake. #idowhatiwant It was still fun to get some photos of her with her curious eyes open, and the adorable bow on her head, and also on her family's Scottish tartan. Little Evvie has already changed so much since these were taken, and will continue to do so at a rapid rate, it seems. She's already rolling over and she's only 2 months old now, so- watch out, world! Pretty soon she'll be driving.
I can't wait to document the life of this little sweetie, and our friends' growing family. Congrats again, you three!!
