Kailey + Jason || The Historic Crags Lodge, Colorado
Beautiful Estes Park wedding, flowing with beer and love.
This was our last wedding of the year, and it was perfection. We're huge fans of Colorado fall weddings in the mountains, especially ones that are outdoors and celebrate beer and love! Kailey and Jason are both in the Colorado craft-brewing industry; Kailey manages the taproom at Odell Brewing Company in Fort Collins, and Jason owns Verboten Brewing in Loveland, Colorado. Together they created two delicious beers for their wedding celebration, a delicious barleywine called "Grow Old With You" (hello, Wedding Singer reference!) which was aged in whiskey barrels, bottled, then gifted to their guests as wedding favors and a small batch India Golden Ale called "Loving Cup" (a Rolling Stones reference) - so fun!
We have been friends with these two for quite a few years, and were so excited for their wedding day! We definitely cut it a little close to the end of our season, as I was technically a couple of weeks away from my due date, which meant that I could have gone into labor at any moment- but luckily everything went smoothly on that end, and I just looked like a giant pregnant lady photographing a wedding. I am now definitely looking forward to opening our bottle of the Grow Old With You barleywine sometime in the new year - hopefully on a chilly winter day when I need a little warming up, since I wasn't able to enjoy as much of the wedding beer as I would have liked.
Kailey and Jason's wedding day began at their cute little VRBO rentals on the Big Thompson River in Estes Park, with the two of them getting ready with their closest friends and family. They had their first look on the banks of the river, and then welcomed everyone to their ceremony over at the Crags Lodge with Odell beers. The weather was absolutely perfect (as it mostly seems to be for September weddings in Colorado - not to jinx it, hopefully) and they shared heartfelt vows they wrote themselves, and a group cheers before coming down the aisle as the new Mr and Mrs.
The food was delicious- The Crags staff and The View restaurant does an amazing job, and the mountains are the perfect backdrop for the reception room - they really deserve the name "The View." Kailey and Jason are two fiercely loved people, and it shined through at their reception, with beautiful toasts to the couple, many hugs, and a full night of dancing. We are lucky to call them friends, and thankful that we got to photograph their beautiful day.
Cheers to the newlyweds!
